Hello! My name is John, the owner and editor of eBook Readers Resource. I’m a bit of a gadget guy and I enjoy reading books whenever I’m away from my computer. It was inevitable that I would eventually buy an ebook reader. The problem is, when I started my quest to look for one a couple years ago, the pickings were slim. I tried to use my Palm but that was a pain in the neck and wasn’t the easiest device to read from so I gave up on my search – until the Amazon Kindle came along!
When the Kindle first came out I didn’t give it much thought. I just assumed it was another fruitless attempt at providing an ebook reader that actually “worked” and was a joy to use. Then a few months after it was released I couldn’t help but to check it out. It seemed everyone was talking about the Kindle. I made the purchase and I haven’t looked back. My quest for an ebook reader that actually worked was over.
As great as the Kindle is, it’s not perfect. For its first shot out of the gate, however, it’s pretty darn impressive and is as good as it gets right now. I’m sure the Sony Reader is nice too but given all the resources and books available for the Kindle, I’ll be sticking with it for now.
Enough about me, let’s talk about the site already! So what’s the point of this site? Well, as the slogan says, my goal is to be your guide to today’s hottest ebook readers. Right now the Amazon Kindle is by far and away the most popular ebook reader out there so it will be the primary focus of this site right now. If the Sony Reader catches up or if some other hot new ebook reader comes along, I’ll be providing information on it as well.
I’ll be posting a plethora of information on ebook readers, ebooks, and videos of Kindle tips and tutorials on a regular basis so be sure to check back often. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about the site contact me. Thanks for stopping by!
